Commercial K9 Detection
Pest Force offers K9 pest control for commercial properties, a unique specialty that sets us apart when it comes to eradicating pests like rats and bed bugs. The Sensory Research Institute of Florida State University found a dog’s ability to detect odors to be between 10,000 and 100,000 times more sensitive than that of the human nose, which means they can detect pests deeply embedded in the infrastructure of even the most spacious and elaborate warehouses and dormitories. Our dogs are nationally trained and certified through the National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association (NESDCA) and the World Detector Dog Organization (WDDO), and most importantly, they are treated like family on and off the job.
Rodent K9 Detection
Getting rid of rodents is a multidimensional process. With canine pest control in our toolbox, Pest Force can quickly learn exactly where mice or rats are entering your property, where they live, and how they travel within it. Once the rodents are detected, our K9s are trained to carry out extermination through a process that is far more effective, environmentally safe, and humane than traditional rodent removal processes.
Our K9’s can detect entry and exit points within structures, allowing technicians to quickly identify problem areas, set effective traps, seal holes, and efficiently resolve the problem for our customers.
In addition, our K9’s locate burrows outside that often house these rodents, allowing them to safely reproduce and the infestation to worsen over time. Locating these tunnels allows our K9’s and technicians to successfully eradicate large rodent infestations, often removing thousands of rodents during a job!
Bed Bug K9 Detection
You might be wondering how the canine detection process actually works for such tiny bugs, how it could be superior to the traditional methods of pest control, or what makes it possible for a trained K9 to actually smell a bed bug infestation.
Dogs pick up scents in layers, meaning that while they first sniff surface areas of the complex, their olfactory senses quickly penetrate until they pick up the scent of bed bugs and live eggs, locating the source without having to tear the structure apart before the problem is found.
This tool allows us to search large properties such as dorms, hotels, cruise ships, warehouses, call centers, etc. that otherwise would not be feasible when considering the time or expenses it would take to do this with a man alone.
What to Expect from Canine Pest Control Inspection
- Quick results – It only takes our dogs 2-3 minutes to thoroughly search an area the size of a hotel or dorm room.
- Early detection – K9 pest control is one of the best ways to stay proactive when it comes to catching bed bugs or rodents before an infestation gets out of hand. Just a few sniffs every few months can save your business and livelihood.
- Thorough treatment – K9 detection is the most accurate way to locate live rodents and bed bugs, but our dogs are also trained to detect bed bug larvae. Canine pest control ensures that you won’t have to worry about recurring surprises.n
